Michael Livingston’s “Cat” Is Out of the Bag

Michael Livingston’s first novel, The Name of the Cat, has been published at Lulu.com. It’s a sort of Nordic noir with a little bit of humor–Stieg Larsson meets Jane Smiley, or the like. Here’s a capsule description:

“An American student, Cary Engblom, has been kidnapped by a ‘terrorist’ group on an exchange program in Sweden. Was it the Sami Resistance Front, a group no one has ever heard of; the left-wing dean, trying to embarrass the right-wing professor; the right-wing professor, trying to embarrass the left-wing dean; or some other combination? And what of the Swedish woman—herself a Nordic noir author—who is the only adult present at the kidnapping and whose books have an uncanny tendency to predict real-world events?”
