Bruce Rule’s debut novel, The Further Adventures of Sherlock Holmes: The Debutante Detective, from Titan Books will be released July 7.
The novel is a twisty New York City-set mystery that sees Teddy Roosevelt’s daughter, Alice Roosevelt, team up with Holmes and Watson to save the president from a kidnapping and attempted assassination on the eve of international peace talks. Holmes’s British parlor tricks meet hard-boiled American noir in this pastiche for fans of Gareth Rubin’s Holmes and Moriarty.
Publishers Weekly says, “Rule proves adept at finding new ways to deepen Holmes and Watson’s partnership” and “effectively evokes the tone [of] Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic Sherlock Holmes mysteries.”
