MWA-NY fall event plans: Readings, meetings and open slots for Brooklyn Book Fest

Like everything else this year, this post may well end up filed under “Man plans, and God laughs,” but I’d like to update everyone on the board’s plans for events through fall 2021.

  • We will continue with our monthly virtual chapter meetings and panels via Zoom from 6-8 p.m. on first Wednesdays—Oct. 6 and Nov. 3.
  •  We have scheduled a live Revels for Dec. 8, with location and other details yet to be determined.

In addition, we need to hear from you right now about two other events that may interest members:
  • Live outdoor event: We have a table at the Brooklyn Book Festival on Sunday, Oct 3. If you are interested in selling your books at our table, will you please email us now at info@mwany.org with your preference of time that day.

  • Live indoor event: KGB Reading Series is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 9. Readers will read live at KGB Bar, with masks and proof of vaccination required per current NYC mandates. We will also broadcast this via Zoom, but are unable to accommodate remote readers at this point. If you are interested in reading live at KGB on Nov. 9, will you please email us now at readings@mwany.org?

With my highest hopes that we will actually see one another before the end of the year,

Erica Obey, President

On behalf of the MWA-NY Board
