Hello, all MWA New York Chapter members,
Here is a recap of the Long Island Groups meeting and get together in Nassau County at the Outback Steak House in Merrick.
Nine excited members from Long Island attended, joined by one member from Brooklyn. Hopefully we’ll see members from Queens, Manhattan and the Bronx at future get-togethers.
Our discussions cover a wide swath of thought and ideas. They wanted to see if the Island could entice Agents and Editors to get them to come to a meeting and talk to us.
I thought it was fantastic. We are working on that now. Some of our members have had contact with editors and agents and will ask them. That would be fantastic.
I asked the attendees to ask their contacts if they would charge anything to do it. They will email me with an answer.
We also discussed a seminar on queries and synopses. With these possibilities, we would have to change location to a more subdued and quieter location.
Some of us will revisit places like libraries (those without an insurance fee) a Knights of Columbus where the writer is a member.
Beta reading was discussed with some who have used FIVER & FictionPress.com.
One writer published his book through Black Opal books. I’m going to research them later.
I think that’s all for now. I will do my best to keep the entire chapter up to date.
Have a great week much success to everyone,
Michael J Hall
