

The keynote speaker was New York Times bestselling author Alafair Burke, who provided insights into her writing, her collaboration with Mary Higgins Clark, and her days as a prosecutor. Burke was interviewed by John Valeri, mystery reviewer and online host.

Hank Phillippi Ryan led a wonderful writing workshop. Meanwhile, the fascinating panels explored the mystery genre in depth. The topics ranged from the influence of music and sports to how authors’ passions, interests, and curiosity make crime fiction entertaining; setting; and strong women protagonists with dark secrets.
